The Walls Have Ears by Erica Pike

The Walls Have Ears (College Fun and Gays, #3)
Name: The Walls Have Ears

Series Name: College Fun and Gays #3

Author: Erica Pike

Word Count: 16k

Genre: M/M Contemporary, first love

Pub. Date: April 6th 2012

My Review:

Erica Pike has given us the 3rd installment in her College Fun and Gays Series. I really enjoy Erica's writing, her character descriptions are well written, her words flow easily and you laugh and feel for Tasha and Harley.

I fell in love with Harley and felt so bad for him, you just want to grab him and give him a hug. I also loved Tasha, he appears to be a strong, handsome young man. Erica's description of the two main characters are great and when your reading this story you know you want the two of them to end up together. I am a big fan of Happy Ever After endings.

The Walls Have Ears is a short, fun read. I loved it.

Goodreads Book Description:

Short and scrawny college student Harley Santos has a strange relationship with the guy on the other side of his bedroom wall. For weeks, the two have been masturbating to each other’s voices, but they have never met in person.

When Harley’s roommate (Ryan) is asked out on a date by one of his neighbors, Harley is devastated that his wall-mate mistook not-hot Harley for super-hot Ryan. Helping Harley through his heartache is Tasha Novokov, the other neighbor, who is tall, dark, and impossibly handsome.

When Harley’s affections shift to Tasha, his heartache hits an all time high because with all the girls hanging around, Tasha has to be straight.

Incognito by Miho Li: Promo Post & Giveaway

Book Title: Incognito
Author: Miho Li
Genre: Contemporary, Erotica, Male/Male
Words: 25,377

Book Description:

"When Ren sees the new transfer student—Shin, black hair, storm-cloud-gray eyes, and more beautiful than any guy had a right to be—he makes it his mission to get to know him. Too bad Shin is about as sociable as fungus, and about as likable, too. But Ren isn't good at giving up, so he takes on the challenge of cracking Shin's titanium shell. What he finds underneath, though, is way more than he's prepared to handle.

People are disappearing in Akita, and Shin might be behind it. As Ren's feelings grow for the reserved man, so do the number of missing person reports, and Ren doesn't know if their budding relationship is enough to withstand both the well of secrets and the organization Shin works for."

Excerpt:

There was a heavy sigh and then, “Ren, just go talk to him already.”
Ren’s gaze snapped back to his friends. He flicked shaggy blond hair out of his eye and said, “What?”
“Shin,” Hideyoshi said, making vague hand gestures at the student Ren had been ogling.

Shin had settled in the grass beside a tree and was propping a book open in his lap. Messy strands of black hair fell across his pale cheeks, and he brushed it back with fingers that were surprisingly elegant for a guy.

“Go talk to him.”

Shin Sarutobi was a newly transferred junior, and despite sharing several classes, Ren had yet to find the right opportunity to talk to him. Not because he was intimidated but because Shin treated everyone around him, professors and students alike, with what barely qualified as cool indifference. He spoke in class when necessary but otherwise remained removed from everyone else and, from what Ren could tell, preferred it that way.

The exception was Kyouya Tsutano. Kyouya had transferred in about a month before Shin. It had been a big deal, what with his family being corporate millionaires. Rumor had it Kyouya’s dad died recently, and he had returned to Akita to live with his uncle.

From the start, Kyouya and Shin had a volatile relationship—they always looked pissed just being near each other. Except Ren had overheard them arrange meetings, and Kyouya remained the only person to date Shin spoke with on a regular basis.

Naturally, Ren assumed they were sleeping together. He entertained the theory that Shin and Kyouya were trapped in an unhealthy relationship based on angry but mind-blowing sex.

He chose not to share this theory with his friends.

In any case, the fact remained that Shin was a jerk. A gorgeous jerk with ink-black hair, intense gray eyes, and long legs that made him one of the few students taller than Ren, but a jerk nonetheless. Ren watched as a line formed between Shin’s brows, and he glanced in the direction Kyouya had gone with a sour twist of his lips.

Shin was also a jerk in dire need of an intervention.

Ren nodded decisively. “I’m going to talk to him.”

Hideyoshi gave him a flat look before apparently deciding against voicing what he was thinking. Ren ignored him and crossed the lawn with purposeful strides toward Shin.

With blond hair and blue eyes thanks to his European half, Ren wasn’t used to making the first move. Shin, however, was definitely worth the exception.
“Hi,” Ren said. He didn’t believe in pick-up lines.

Shin didn’t acknowledge the greeting.

Ren cleared his throat, undeterred. “Your friend looked pissed.”
Shin’s gaze lifted, passing dismissively over Ren’s smiling face before returning to his book.

“Uh...your boyfriend?” Ren said, hedging for a response.
Without lowering his book, Shin turned his head and looked up at Ren with ill-concealed impatience. “Did you want something?”

Ren considered this. “Should I answer that honestly?” Because there were a great many things that Ren wanted, including but not limited to Shin spread out on his bed in nothing but a silk ribbon.

Maybe it was best not to be quite so forthcoming yet.

About the Author:

Miho grew up on horror, fantasy, and romance novels (although she hid the romance novels, considering she probably shouldn't have been reading them at eleven years old). She started writing horror first, but these days, her work features more boys kissing boys than heads exploding, which everyone agrees is an improvement. She has a love of all things fantastical, and her favorite romances are the ones that don't happen easily. Reading or writing about characters overcoming adversity in order to reach their happy endings, whether that's together or not, is what fuels her love of the written word.

Master Class (Master Class #1) by Rachel Hamowitz

Master Class (Master Class, #1)
TITLE: Master Class

AUTHOR: Rachel Hamowitz

Riptide Publishing

GENRE: M/M Romance, BDSM

RATING: 4 Stars

Heat Rating: 4 Stars

Book Description:

Broadway darling Nicky Avery is a shooting star by night, but by day he bounces from one heartless one-night stand to the next. A quick flogging, a rough lay, a new whip-hand to manipulate—yet still he yearns for something he cannot even name.

He finds his first true hint of satisfaction in Devon Turner, a self-possessed film star and expert Dom. Devon knows what he wants the moment he sees it, and what he wants is Nicky Avery. Nicky’s never learned to trust and has a nasty habit of topping from the bottom, but he learns fast that in the bedroom, Devon won’t tolerate his actor’s masks.

Nicky's a broken boy, but Devon knows exactly how to put his new sub back together. With patience, care, and all the punishments his little pain slut can handle, Devon breaks Nicky down one scene at a time, revealing a mind that yearns to trust and a heart that hungers for the ecstasy of true submission.

My Review:

Rachel Hamowitz has written a terrific short novel, we are introduced to Nicky and Devon; Sub and Dom. Rachel’s writing is good and the scenes were hot, I never stopped reading till I reached the last page. The book has a few hot scenes and it is a page turner, I cannot wait to read SUBlime: Collected Shorts (Master Class, #2).

Nicky is an actor and a handsome one at that, he seems to have everything going for him, but Nicky knows deep down his desire to submit is the only way he will ever feel satisfied. One night out with friends Nicky meets Devon; a strong, powerful looking man, literally Nicky cannot take his eyes of him he can feel the dominance pouring off of Devon. Nicky escapes to the washroom to get himself under control and when he looks up who is standing there but Devon. Devon cannot take his eyes off Nicky either and see’s the desires and knows what Nicky needs. The force of attraction and desires between these two is off the page hot.

This is a story of two men coming together and letting go, can Nicky be the sub Devon deserves and can Nicky learn to trust and give control over completely to his Dom?

I was a bit disheartened at first reading this book as I don’t agree with violence and I thought some of it was a bit too much but Devon the Dom knew he had to break down Nicky’s control to give him what he really needed and knowing Nicky always had the choice to stop what was happening did make it a bit better.

Overall I have rated Master Class a 4 star rating and heat level 4. I would recommend this to any of my friends who enjoy m/m bdsm romance. ( note: there is some rough sex scenes)

Hadyn Heat (One) - The UrgeHadyn Heat (One) - The Urge by Betty Midnight

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hadyn Heat (One) - The Urge– by Betty Midnight & Ava Michaels

This is the first book I’ve read by Betty Midnight and Ava Michaels and I have to say I will be reading more of their books in the near future. Hadyn Heat is the first of a four part series and I definitely can’t wait to read book two. Both authors have an easy to read writing style, character description are done well and they have introduced us to wide range of other character’s that I am hoping we see in the future maybe with their own stories or just part of this new series .

We are introduced to Hadyn and Taylor who are younger male werewolves both men learning how to control their natural urges/animal instincts to mate. Taylor and Hadyn are good friends and help each other out as much as possible to lessen their urges. You can feel the heat and the attraction between both men, Taylor’s feelings are becoming a bit more than just helping out his friend and he wishes deep down that Hadyn would make him his mate.

While out on a run Hadyn makes a grave mistake and ends up coming across a woman named Sarah and he takes her hard and fast. Unbeknownst to him his interactions with Sarah that night were being watch and the evil man ends up kidnapping Sarah hoping to lead Hadyn into a trap. Sarah who at this point is so caught up in the sexual haze of being with Hadyen doesn’t even realize what is going on around her. The plan is to entice Hadyn back to where Sarah is being held so the man can force Hadyen to mate with his daughter Sephy and take over the world.

This is a great beginning to a series that I cannot wait to read, both authors have done a terrific job in writing Hadyn Heat and have shown a different side of what it would be like to be a male werewolf. I really enjoyed this story and it only made me want to read the next book ASAP. The heat level in this story I would say was hot and rate it 4 out of 5. Overall I have rated this novel 4 stars and cannot wait to see where this series takes us next.

I would recommend Hadyn Heat to anyone who likes to read m/m and m/f paranormal romance novels.

Confessions of a Rentboy by T.R. Verten

GUEST REVIEWER - TERRI FROM MYBOOKBOYFRIEND BLOG

Confessions of a RentboyConfessions of a Rentboy by T.R. Verten

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book Summary

Acerbic twenty-something Andy is living the dream in London. Too bad he's totally broke. The way to getting paid is getting laid -- or at least that's what he discovers when his friend Michelle introduces him to her somewhat-highly-paid and definitely not glamourous world of call girls and boys. Told with frankness and biting humor, Andy sleeps his way through London: for the sex, the glory, and the rent money.

My Review from Terri @ mybookboyfriend

I received this book through Tana from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got this book, but boy was I in for a ride. I love a story that sucks you in and doesn’t let go until the end. That is exactly what happened to me while reading. What can I say without giving away spoilers? This book is like “Secret Diary of a Call Girl,” with a m/m twist.

Andy is a “bi-sexual” man, but really a m/m romance guy at heart. The author tells the story as if you are sitting in their listening to his confessions. The story was dark and parts and well, the ending was not what I expected. I’m not sure that is a good or bad thing. Maybe because I’m a hopeless romantic at heart and wanted more.

But that is beside the point. This is a 5 star short story and well worth the time to read. The author has a wonderful way of writing.

The characters that matter most are well developed. The scenery set and let the tears flow at least for me towards the end. This story would blow me over the moon, if it were longer and we got to know more about Nathan and more back story about Nick. But all in all, Great job!

I recommend to all readers of m/m romance.

My Book Boyfriend is Andy. (I heart Andy)

Hot Hands (College Fun and Gays, # 1) by Erica Pike

Hot Hands (College Fun and Gays, # 1)Hot Hands by Erica Pike

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book Description:

For weeks, college student Casper has been the victim of sail-by goosing and groping. The problem is that Casper would very much like to get more than groped by those wonderful, big, hot hands. With a journal full of clues, he sets out to discover who his mystery groper is. However, he may be in serious trouble once he discovers the ominous identity, and it’s not because of the light bondage the groper seems to prefer.

Hot Hands is the first of five in a series of short stories. Each story is independent of the others and each covers a deep issue. Hot Hands focuses on the effects of high school bullying for being gay.

My Review:

I really enjoyed this short story it was a quick read the wrting was good the author made it quite enjoyable. The book touched on the subject of being bullied how it affected Casper but also how it was for the tormentor who had those exact same feeling but handled it in a very different way. Being in the closet at a young age Jamie made some horrible choices. I would love to read more about Casper and Jamie to see if they could get past their history. Who doesn't love a happy ending though. Great writing Erica and I gladly will read and review anything you have to offer. I gave this story 4 stars as the writing was excellent and left me wanting more.
